Technician setting up a remote monitoring device

Setting up your remote monitoring device correctly ensures continuous, accurate data collection so your care team can track your progress and intervene if needed.

1. Unboxing & Inspection

Carefully open the packaging and confirm you have:

  • The main monitoring unit (with data port and status LEDs)
  • Sensor cables (e.g., respiratory belts, oximeter clip)
  • Power adapter and any extension cables
  • Quick-start guide and safety instructions

Inspect each component for damage or missing pieces. Report any issues before proceeding.

2. Charging & Powering On

Plug the device into a standard outlet and watch the LED indicator:

  • Solid green: fully charged
  • Blinking green: charging
  • Red: low battery—allow a full charge before use

Once charged, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. A brief beep and LED sequence confirms it’s on.

3. Attaching Sensors

Proper sensor placement is critical:

  • Respiratory Belt: wrap snugly around your chest or abdomen—just tight enough to stay in place while breathing.
  • Pulse Oximeter: clip onto your fingertip; ensure it’s secure but not too tight.
  • Optional Accessories: connect any temperature or motion sensors per the guide.

Check that all connectors click firmly into the device ports.

4. Pairing & Syncing

Most devices sync via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi:

  • Bluetooth: enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, open the SleepEz app, and follow pairing prompts.
  • Wi-Fi: choose your network in the device settings, enter your password exactly, and wait for a solid connection LED.

A successful sync is indicated by a steady blue LED or “Connected” status in the app.

5. Verifying Data Transmission

After pairing, start a quick test recording:

  • Begin a 1-minute session via the app or device button.
  • Check the app’s dashboard or web portal to ensure data appears in real time.
  • If data doesn’t show, repeat the sync steps or move closer to your router/phone.

6. Device Placement & Use

Position your device on a stable, flat surface near your bed, within 2–3 feet of your sensors. Avoid placing it on soft surfaces where airflow and sensor cables can be restricted.

7. Troubleshooting Tips

  • No LED or beeps: hold the power button longer, then recheck the battery.
  • Intermittent sync: restart your phone’s Bluetooth or reboot your router.
  • Sensor errors: inspect cables for damage and reseat connectors.

Following these steps will have your remote monitoring device up and running smoothly—ensuring reliable data capture for accurate, ongoing care.
